Accomplished with LipService, Shave and a Haircut, and Lightwave, Jamie Lloyd's "Lightnin'" is an animated film based on recorded interviews with Lightnin' Hopkins. His animation shows the layered animation method used in LipService. The mouth movements are keyframed with LipService's unique non-linear morph, and the rest of the face is puppeteered live with the mouse. Take careful note of all the subtle mouth twitches, winces, and eyebrow movements.

The hair was grown and rendered with Shave and a Haircut, with 'kink', and 'kink freq' dialed up full.

Jamie Lloyd is an effects lead at Dreamworks SKG, and does many such experimental character projects at home.
