FLOATING LICENSE

OK, if this is the first time you've ordered a product from us that requires the RLM floating license server, you'll need to install the license server, you can get the server and install it for the appropriate platform from the downloads page. (see "RLM")


 

You will need administrative privalleges on the server machine, make sure you have them.

After you've installed the license server, and our software, you'll need to generate an identifiers file and send it to us.
Follow the instructions below (for the platform you are serving from) and send the file it generates to us at sales@joealter.com. 

FOR QUICKEST RESULTS : 
The best way to send that stuff back is in reply to your paypal receipt - that subject gets flagged for special attention in our inbox, keep the order in the body of the message, don't send us a paypal order ID number, their database is horrible. 

If you haven't got your license within 24 hours, or are in a huge hurry, you can call us. 

Windows :
Open up a file folder at c:\rlm
click on 'hostid_rlm.bat'

This will generate a file called 'hostid.txt' in that same folder, that's the file we need. 

OSX :
After you've run the installer, open up a shell window and do this :
cd /Users/Shared/rlm 
./hostid_rlm.csh

This will generate a file called 'hostid.txt' in that same folder, that's the file we need. 

Linux :
After you've run the installer, open up a shell window and do this :
cd /usr/local/rlm
./hostid_rlm.csh

This will generate a file called 'hostid.txt' in that same folder, that's the file we need. 

If you're adding additional licenses to a current installation of one of our products, all you need to do is send is the .lic file(s) in the rlm folder on your server with the paypal reciept.
